Puppy Pictures: A late snowstorm!

April 4 - April 5 (pups turned 6 weeks old on the 5th)

Wednesday evening, it started to snow. The air was warm, the flakes were big and soft, and all the spring mud was soon covered over. It was a wonderful evening to be outdoors!

Pups and Norah.

Left: Pups playing.     Center: Pups start to get bored.     Right: Puppy conference! What shall we do next?

Get Jamie, of course! (luckily, Jamie seems to enjoy the game also)

Playing in the snow.

Almost time to go in for the night.

By Thursday morning we had several inches on the ground. It was much colder and the puppies weren't nearly as enthusiastic about being outside.

Left: Moneypenny breaking trail, followed by Q and then M.     Right: M on the left, Q on the right.

Because they semmed so hesitant in the snow, I decided to walk over to the far side of the yard (under some maples whose boughs were bent down under the weight of the snow) and wait to see what the pups would do. I was curious to see if they'd follow after me, and, since I half expected them to go back onto the porch and wait by the door for me, I was pleased that all of them decided to come look for me! Interestingly, they each came individually, and not one of them followed my tracks around the downed tree branches - once each pup decided to come to me, they each took a relatively direct path towards me.

Moneypenny does not like to be left behind and immediately chased after me. Her delight at finding me was adorable...and then she was off again.

Right behind came Q (following in Moneypenny's tracks). Q was also delighted to "find" me.

M detoured to sniff some branches and take a potty break, but, when she did find me, gave me the most enthusiastic and sincere greeting of all!

Peek-A-Boo! That's Moneypenny under the branch, Q directly behind him, and M behind and to the left.
